Wikipedia Edit # 2

For my second Wikipedia edit i decided to add the following to the Trigeminal Neuralgia article i will be contributing to this semester:

"Alternative and Complementary health care treatments such as Chiropractics or Acupuncture are sometimes used either in combination with drugs or alone to help manage pain caused by this disorder."

I am assuming most of you reading this have not heard of Trigeminal neuralgia. I hadn't heard of it either until my mother was diagnosed with it four years ago. Trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic pain disorder that affects the largest nerve in the head and causes those suffering from it to experience episodes of excruciating pain in their face. This disorder has been nicknamed the suicide disorder, since a number of patients took their lives after every treatment they tried was unsuccessful at relieving them of pain. My mother has been lucky since whenever she had an episode the medication she took was able to lessen the pain enough so that it would be tolerable. She has been in remission for a year and a half now but her and her doctors don't know whether it will come back or not.

If you would like more information on this disorder check out the following link: Trigeminal Neuralgia
